sunrise to sunset

shop by day and bar hop by night

tips:
  • start your day off in a basic layer(like this t strap black tank dress)
  • wear something light over your basic layer for some extra personality, add a casual bracelet or pair of earrings to add some flirty flare
  • After shopping freshen up by adding a fun jacket & sexy sling back shoe. Need more? Layer on the necklaces or add a sequin clutch

Manimal

Kristen Lombardi's (designer) interest in animal forms and traditional costumes influence the design aesthetic of each moccasin and accessory. Her design process is driven by a deep appreciation for the almost forgotten world of artisan crafts and craftsmanship.

two thumbs up!

cute as a button

i appreciate Miss Biel keeping things simple at the MTV movie awards this year. The sheer polka dotted blouse + black embellished and fringed skirt (don't forget the sweet pink bow) was a perfect combo for the sassy, ladylike look she effortlessly accomplished at the red carpet appearance.

the outskirts of fashion

sometimes all it takes is a photograph, to inspire and remind you of how lucky we are.
Cheers, Monday!

Closet make-over must-haves

My styling services...for free!
The key to the 'Little Black Dress' is: find the right one. Not every black dress is appropriate for your body type just because it's black. It's one of your closet's most essential pieces...but it needs to look like you spent some time finding it. Find a balance between simple & intricate. Its a piece that should be timeless, handed down generation to generation.
I love a good cardigan. Who doesn't? It's a great day to night piece. Wear one to work with a pencil skirt & collard button down underneath & by night throw on some jeans and a tank.
The key to wearing a white button down is how you wear it.  Give it your own personal pizazz to help make it intriguing. Wear it crisp and formal or unbutton a few buttons, get one size too big, and wear it slouchy as if you slept in it the night before.

A shift looks great in the day with flats, sandals, flip flops and easily dress up for an evening with heels and sexy eyeliner.

The classic 'Breton Sailing Top' is a classic boat-neck off white sweater or shirt with dark navy or red stripes, sometimes with buttons. I love these nautical pieces, it represents all that is cool about old-school classic.
Ok so usually suits, in general, scare me off- but lets face it ladies,we all need to own one.  I think the reason I have a love/hate relationship with suits is because the 'corporate' and 'appropriate' look has always turned me off. I have recently learned that a great suit can be one of the most stylish and useful things in your closet. Be picky! Find the perfect suit for you, it's out there..
I may not love a suit...but i loooove a good, sexy blazer. Go classic in colors like black, white, grey, or brown- a great jacket can help anchor your entire wardrobe.
Simple, cheap, useful. Every woman should possess one.

Crocodile, alligator, leopard, lizard, ostrich..any of them work! Animal skin lends accessories an air of luxury, timelessness, and long-lasting quality.

My #1 classic must have for any closet. Trench coats look good with everything: pants, skirts, even ball gowns...they also look great with nothing. Need to take your dog out in the morning?  trust your trenchcoat!

Channeling Victoria Beckham..I find pencil skirts to be extremely sexy when paired with the right top. Fit is everything, the skirt should fit snug over hips and come under your butt...but not too tight! They usually run pretty true-to-size.

It has been said that a woman only needs one good purse...do i stand by this statement? No. but overall could it work? Yes. No need to overload on purses but at least try to have two handbags total, one black one brown.

Oversized sunglasses were popularized by Jackie O and still look great today(well on some faces). The size may overwhelm some and for others may be too much of a statement.  I personally, live in Ray-Ban aviators. They make anyone look chic and may be better for those who don't feel right in the oversized look. Aviators seem to be the more streamline and subtle look.
There isn't much to say, i love them..they're fabulous. Everyone  should have a basic color(black, silver, gold) and a fun colorful pattern.
leather jacket, leather vest...buy something leather! A leather jacket is great over casual or even dressy dresses. Try a black grey or camel brown leather with a white tank and jeans(as seen above)

Prints can be tricky because they are so personal, but that's just it...they're personal! Find prints that are comfortable for you and wear them proudly.

functional & always in style

safari or army jackets are highly stylized but still have a certain romantic chic that has made them closet staples for years. Neutral colors combine well with most casual outfits.
Confidence is key. If you think you have it..you can rock either a classic Panama hat or a funky fedora.

The more worn in the better they look! Riding books are a classic staple and can last a life time.
Nothing looks better than a colorful unique pair or shorts with a simple tucked in tank or blouse. Add some pumps and watch them stare!

Sometimes overused, but have always been a closet staple. Thank the 40's, 50's, & 60's.
Classic stripes adds intrigue to an otherwise basic look.

I love the formality of classic clothes. Pair a tailored jacket or cashmere sweater looks less expected when worn with laid back denim.

hope these must-have closet tips help!
